My name is Sarah Whitney and I am the artist here at Stork Lane Reborn Nursery. I have been reborning for 3 years now and love every minute of it. I not only reborn but I also sculpt using pro-sculpt clay .

Reborn Dolls or Fake babies are becoming very popular and highly collectible.
Here are Sarah's Stork Lane I specialize in the art of Reborning.
The process of reborning a doll is being able to create a realistic lifelike baby as possible, I strive to make each Reborn feel and look real, and truley love it.
To start the reborning process I buy a high quality vinyl kit, that is made just for the reborning process. Then I begin the fun painting the dolls head, body and limbs, I use Genesis heat set paints that are heated on the vinyl So your baby will never chip,crack or fade If you want to know more about how I paint you can go to this link: Reborn Process. It takes a variety of different techniques, to get a very realistic human skin effect. This takes multiple layers of different paints to create mottled effects such as that of a newborn baby. I also add veins and other methods to add that real lifelike quality effect.
Each Reborn is one of a kind and can never be duplicated even if I tired to I couldn't.
All my Reborns arrive to you the customers weighted and stuffed to feel very cuddly and similar to that of a baby. The arms, legs and head are also weighted to give each doll a comparable baby weight.
Each reborn doll I make has very realistic High quality mohair hair. I root the heads of each Reborn 1-2 hairs of mohair at a time this is called micro rooting, it can take anywhere from 40-60 hours for each reborn. I always hand root the eyelashes for all open and closed babies I never use fake eyelashes.
The baby dolls hands and feet are also hand Painted, their tiny nails have been manicured and varnished to give a nice gloss finish. You can get your reborn baby either open or closed eyes.
I can also add a heartbeat, magnetic dummy and magnetic hair ribbon depending on the customers specifications. Once the baby has gone through the Reborn Process your new baby is dressed in cute real baby clothes and boxed in a nice package ready for a new home. |
